Postcrossing

     Hobby plays a very important role in our lives. It`s impossible to imagine our life without hobby J  I`d like to tell you about my new hobby. I like travelling, reading, communication with interesting people, foreign languages. And I´ve found a hobby which includes all my wishes. I can describe all these activities just with one word – postcrossing.

     Postcrossing is a project which allows to send and receive cards from people all over the world. I mean paper postcards by mail, not e-mail! The main idea is to exchange cards with random person somewhere in the world.

     First you should register and create your own profile. Then you are to request to send a card. When you get an address, you are to sign a card including unique ID, put stamps and send it (the majority of postcrossers prefer cards without envelope). For the fist time, you get 5 addresses. Later as soon as any of receivers gets a card, he or she registers it (using the ID on the card ) and only after registration someone will get your address. By the way, on your profile page you can see stats, dates and electronic copies of the cards (if you aren´t lazy) and so on.

     Today people from all parts of our planet participate at this project. It´s not surprising, the majority of users live in Russia, the USA, China. (Btw, my first card came from Saratov, Russia). Our country takes the 9^th place in this list. In the list of countries with most sent cards (where the active users live) Belarus takes the 6^th place after  Germany, the USA, the Netherlands, Finland and Russia.
